I wish I knew the answer to this. I am reliable, because I don't like letting people down, therefore I find unreliable people very selfish. They simply please themselves without concidering other people. I suppose you either care what people think about you and how they feel or you don't. It's the people who let you down and don't even apologise that get me angry. As long as you have at least one person in your life who doesn't let you down, you'll be fine and this is the person you'll think of when someone has let you down. You'll appreciate the reliable person more.

Some people just say they will help out and not end up helping because they get so caught up with themselves, putting themselves before others, and end up saying something like, "I forgot". You then have a right to say, "FUCK YOU!" & find other people whom are more reliable :)

I honestly dont know how to answer this but what i do know is people are just plain ignorant! Its like when i just WANT people around or like most times when i want to be alone people are always around me! But when i actually NEED them they're nowhere to be found! Wantin and needin are two diff things! So when i need you then you shud be there! Its like whats the point of having friends if your not gonna be there for me! You might as well just walk on out of my life because your not really doing anything but getting in my way and getting on my nerves! I dont believe in friendship! People always let you down! And i trust noone! Im better off alone!

I agree with some of the other comments to a degree but i think some people just do not consider others whom they let down by being unreliable. We were due to have a carpet fitted by a relative of my Husband's who works at a carpet shop in our area. He came round with some samples we liked them but wanted a carpet with a small pattern and these samples were all plain. He said he would return with some other samples shortly four days passed my husband rang him, he said i will call around next week no sign of him all day, he rang 7 O'clock that night and said he had been working late and couldn't get round to our house fair enough. I will come the next day he said we waited in all day no sign yet again no call nothing. We haven't heard anymore from him since. If he calls again we will tell him, "No thanks we are going elsewhere for a carpet." What is so stupid he said he needed the work as the shop hadn't many orders at present (the mind boggles).

Yeah, but your attitude is shaped by your environment and the behavior of those around you. It's complex. Sometimes someone who is happy all the time can really effin piss you off, because of their "blind niceness" without any real sincerity. Again, it's a messed up world. I think I'm learning that maybe I'm meant to just be a pissed off person most of the time, because I grew up in a loving caring family, and the world is not loving and caring. I'd love to go back to the way things were, but it's not reality for me. I think I would actually be happiest with someone who constantly tests me.

Anyway, this is a pretty cool site. I can't reply to "How do you stay organized?!" so I'll say that I have written up an online calender in Word, and since I spend a lot of time on the computer, I check it often, and it is effective.

Helen hit the nail on the head.

Lately I've been considering the majority of people, and I've realized that they're absolutely terrible. The thing is, there are various factors (such as appearance, personality, likability) that can determine how likely someone is to lie to you, or to say "yes" to something when they don't really intend to do it. When you think about it, people are treated differently because of these factors, which means that certain people are probably MORE LIKELY to be lied to, which means certain people get the shitty end of the stick in life.

I recall reading recently that more "attractive" looking people are actually favored in the world of business, and pretty much in all facets of life. Just think about all the people that are left out of this attractive category? I can tell you first hand - the world is different. And I'm not even that unattractive, but I know enough to understand how certain people are neglected, lied to, and all the while are expected to act as if the world is treating them 100% fairly.

It's a messed up world.

We're advanced animals.

The fact that you live in peace and are able to carry out conversations such as this on a message board is the result of so many factors that are completely out of your control. Best consider yourself lucky to at least live in peace, I suppose! As for counting on people - don't expect to be able to :/

Attitude is the way you mentally look at the world around you. It is how you view your environment and your future. It is the focus you develop toward life itself.
